I did not treasure those years as I could have - I celebrated every milestone and really did not see how bittersweet the passing of years really was until college was looming on the horizon.

But now, good news! I've discovered grandmother-hood. And it is divine. It makes up for the years that flew by as their mommy was growing. I get to be a supporting actor, not the star. I'm the one who is never too distracted to listen to their little-boy stories or help them make a craft or make cookies. I'm not bound by housework and homework and carpooling and doctor appointments and sports practice and grocery shopping and and and the million things that mommies must accomplish before they lay their exhausted heads down on their pillows at night.

I do understand the tears, but God, in His infinite goodness and wisdom, lets us once again see Him in the gift of grandchildren.Bevhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10081725379521309242noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7102668064645514704.post-17037703156527842652008-05-05T14:15:00.000-06:002008-05-05T14:15:00.000-06:00Thanks for sharing your thoughts. They are all different and all have their own set of trials. I love the "season" I am in now, and I feel like you in the fact that I really don't want it to end. There is nothing else I would rather be doing. Oh, this is Emily Robertson by the way, I realize that my picture is well...somewhat distorted.
I loved reading your blog, I have come to realize that I need to enjoy every moment I have with my kids and that this time with them is so short and just that sadly one day, they will grow up, and I will get old, and that I need to enjoy this time as much as possible and take it all in. I have two little boys, they are a handful but I love them so much! I always go in their room after they are asleep, sometimes just to stare at the beauty, and others to sneek them out of their beds and rock them and just love them. I am so impressed by you and who you are. I hope you know that I think you are seriously one of the most amazing and strong people I have ever met. And I am so glad that you are doing so well. Take care! oh, if you ever wish to email... emorrise@gmail.comEmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11027392138496606866noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7102668064645514704.post-36972113433579835242008-04-25T13:02:00.000-06:002008-04-25T13:02:00.000-06:00Wow, that was beautiful. I'm really glad you shared that because lately, it seems, I've been thinking a lot about how I didn't graduate from college and stuff like that...but this really made me realize something I already knew: that the happiest times of my life have been since I've been married. And when I got pregnant I loved every minute of it and I am incredibly blessed with a beautiful baby girl as well. These really are the best times of my life. I loved school, I loved working, I loved doing many things. But I truly love my family and being a wife and mom. Thanks for this post -- it just reminded me of that.Beccahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07862922817530822488noreply@blogger.com
